The young Steve Jobs, smirking. It is 1958 IBM passes up the chance to buy a young fledgling company that has invented a new technology, called xerography. Two years later Xerox is born and IBM has been kicking themselves ever since. This is Steve's opening to the pre-launch event. Steve throws down the talk at the IBM PC. Lots of numbers get thrown around and a meaningful reference to the video game crash of 1983 that knocked out other major computer companies. It is now 1984, it appears that IBM wants it all. Apple is the only force that can ensure vendors future freedom.
